Levi's Story

Levi

Levi is 10 years old and was diagnosed with cancer in 2022. Levi and his family began fighting the day of the diagnosis and have not stopped. He has 5 siblings rallying around him during this fight, as well as two loving parents who have made huge sacrifices to ensure that he has the support around him he needs to not only survive but thrive.

This loving support is an important, and sometimes overlooked aspect of a cancer fight that is not emphasized enough. During this time of many hospital visits, surgeries, check-ups, procedures, testing, and endless waiting, spirits can fall low. The emotional support and strength of those who surround a child or teenager battling cancer are vital; it has been essential for Levi to support his fight to become the Warrior he is.

It is hard to ask for help sometimes and asking for help can bring about feelings and thoughts of failure. This can be no further from the truth. Asking for help is not a failure, not when you are doing all you can to support your family and child with cancer. In her family’s time of need, Levi’s mom began this journey by reaching out to the ACCBF with a letter requesting aid with the mortgage for their family home so Levi would have a safe, comfortable, stable place to recover, and the entire family could stay in their home without the stress of having to sell and relocate.  ACCBF was able to grant this request because of generous donors like you.  In fact, in 2023, with the generous support of our donor community, the ACCBF provided over $250,000 in direct financial aid to families like Levi’s across the U.S. Thank you for answering the call of families and children in critical need.
