Dallas

Navigating the challenging journey of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Dallas's diagnosis was first in May 2022; he is only 8 years-old now. He is receiving attentive care in Florida. Dallas, and his mother, have received nothing but professional and compassionate care from the hospital physicians and doctors, who are doing everything possible to support Dallas's fight against this merciless disease. He is a warrior!

Young Dallas is the only son of a caring, loving single mother named Brittney. Dallas is 8 years-old, turning 9 this year. In May of last year, Dallas got news that no child should ever have to hear: “you have cancer.” And it is not just any cancer; young Dallas has B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, which is a particularly wicked form of cancer that targets children aged 6 on average and is the most common form of children’s cancer.

No parent should ever have to hear this kind of news. Brittney is a hard-working mother who loves her son so so so much, and he means everything to her. Cancer takes and takes and takes and Brittney has done all she can to make sure that her son has the care, support, and treatments that he desperately needs.

Here is the hand-written letter we received from Brittney on behalf of her brave son Dallas:

“Hi, my name is Brittney. I am a single mother of one, Dallas. Dallas has been receiving chemotherapy a little over a year now. I have faced some challenges but still I keep my head held high. I am currently unemployed and receiving assistance with some of my financial obligations would really help out a lot. I would like assistance with rent, cable, car note, and groceries.”

There are so many financial side-effects of cancer that people do not realize until they are upon them, and they can have devastating results. Things like rent, groceries, car payments, and more suddenly become more expensive then ever. The last question that Brittney and Dallas should ever have to wonder is if they can put food on the table. Dallas is a Warrior and he needs all the time, care, and support possible to make sure that he can overcome this cancer, and not have to worry about where his next meal is coming from.

The ACCBF was able to meet Brittney and Dallas’s need. Because of the ACCBF, and your generous support, Brittney and Dallas do not have to worry about their necessities, and can focus on overcoming Dallas’s cancer. He is a brave young Warrior and his mother has had to be stronger than ever in this time.

It is in dark times like this that it can feel like everything is crashing and there is no hope, but thanks to your support through the ACCBF, Brittney and Dallas can know that there are kind strangers and friends that are here for them, making sure they have what they need as Dallas fights for his cancer-free life.

Let's Pray for Dallas

Dear Heavenly Father,

As I bow my head and close my eyes in prayer, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the opportunity to come before You today. I lift up to You a young soul in need of Your divine love and healing grace. I humbly pray for Dallas, an 8-year-old boy who is courageously battling leukemia. In Your infinite wisdom, You know the depths of his struggle, the pain he endures, and the strength that he summons each day.

Lord Jesus, I ask that You wrap Dallas in Your loving arms, that he may feel Your presence, Your peace, and Your healing touch. You are the Divine Physician, the One who can mend not only the body but also the spirit. We beseech You, in the name of Your boundless love, to cast out this affliction from his young body. We know that nothing is impossible for You.

Lord, I pray for Dallas's family, who stand by his side with unwavering faith and love. Give them the strength to continue their support and to find solace in You during moments of fear and uncertainty. May they know that their burdens are not theirs alone, but shared with You, the ever-present God of comfort.

In the face of adversity, dear Jesus, I ask that You bless Dallas with Your light and hope. Infuse his heart with resilience, courage, and an unwavering belief in the power of prayer. Help him understand that he is never alone, that You walk this difficult journey with him, carrying him through the darkest valleys.

Heavenly Father, I pray for the medical professionals who care for Dallas. Guide their hands and minds, infuse them with wisdom and compassion. Let them be instruments of Your divine healing power as they work tirelessly to bring health and wholeness to this young boy.

I also lift up the community around Dallas, who have rallied in support of this brave child. May their kindness and generosity continue to pour forth, providing not only financial and material aid but also a reservoir of love, hope, and encouragement.

Lord, as we pray for Dallas, we also contemplate the mysteries of life's challenges. We know that Your ways are not always our ways, and we may not understand why such trials befall us. Yet, in these moments of doubt and questioning, we are reminded that it is through the darkest storms that we see the brightest rainbows. Dallas's journey, though difficult, is an opportunity for his faith to shine like a beacon of hope, inspiring those around him.

In the face of suffering, we are called to think critically about the purpose of pain and the resilience of the human spirit. Through our trials, we are challenged to deepen our understanding of the human condition and to strengthen our faith in the face of adversity. It is in times of hardship that we often find the most profound lessons.

So, dear Jesus, we ask not only for healing but also for the growth of faith and understanding in Dallas's life. May this young boy's struggle become a source of inspiration, not only to those who know him but to the world at large. May his story challenge us all to be better, to be more compassionate, more giving, and more faithful.

As we conclude this prayer, we do so with gratitude for Your ever-present love and grace. We trust that, in Your perfect timing, You will touch Dallas with Your healing hand and restore him to health. In the meantime, we are inspired by his resilience, his courage, and his unwavering faith.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.

Amen.
